Connection Method of Large Diameter PE Drainage Pipe

Electrofusion pipe fittings work through Joule effect, and use the mutual conversion of heating elements to convert electric energy into heat energy. At the same time, with the characteristics of pipe fittings, the pipe fittings also have great advantages in use, so it is widely used in the industrial field. Next, we will introduce the welding methods and process requirements of electrofusion pipe fittings.

Welding Method of Electrofusion Pipe Fittings

  1. In the process of fusion welding, the method of heating the weldment joint to the molten state and completing the welding without pressure is called fusion welding. Common fusion welding methods include arc welding, gas welding, electroslag welding, etc.

  2. During pressure welding, pressure must be applied to the weldment to complete the welding, which is called pressure welding. Common pressure welding methods include resistance welding, friction welding, arc welding, ultrasonic welding, etc.

  3. In the process of brazing, the metal material with lower melting point than the base metal is used as the solder. The method of connecting Weldments by heating weldments and solder to a temperature higher than the melting point of solder and lower than the melting point of base metal, wetting the base metal with liquid solder, filling the joint gap and diffusing with the base metal is called brazing. Common brazing methods include flame brazing, induction brazing, furnace brazing, salt bath brazing and vacuum brazing.

Welding Process Requirements for Electric Melting Pipe Fittings

  1. Scrape off the oxide layer on the welding surface of the pipe with, generally the scraping depth is 0.2 ~ 0.5mm. If the pipe fittings are too tight for socket assembly, the scraping amount can be appropriately increased, and the socket depth can be marked with a marker pen.

  2. Organic stains on the welding surface of pipe fittings and pipes must be removed before welding.

  3. Use a multimeter to check whether the pipe fitting is connected. If the coil of the pipe fitting is normal, install the electric melting pipe fitting into the pipe orifice at an appropriate depth, and then tap the periphery of the electric melting pipe fitting evenly with a hammer until the edge of the pipe fitting coincides with the identification line. It is forbidden to tap the power terminal.

  4. Check whether the fitting clearance of pipes and fittings is uniform and appropriate.

  5. The stains splashed on the welding area must be wiped clean during assembly.

  6. Fix the assembled joint and pipelines on both sides, keep the pipelines on both sides on the same axis, and ensure that the joint is not affected by any external force for welding.
